Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer.com. Today we have a 2018 GMC Sierra 1500, and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the B and W above-bed rails. These rails are gonna allow you to mount up your industry-standard fifth wheel, it'll drop right into one of these three sets of holes. So if you're dropping into the outer hole, you're also gonna be using the outer hole on the other side. These holes is what, are what's gonna make it an industry-standard rail because these measurements, or the spacing in between 'em is going to be the industry standard. The B and W Patriot that we're using today, for example, is going to use the outer holes, because it needs the stability from the outer holes in order to accomplish the weight capacity that it has. more

B and W Custom Installation Kit with Base Rails Installation - 2022 GMC Sierra 2500- Video

Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2022 GMC Sierra 2500 and we're gonna be taking a look at, and I'm gonna show you how to install the B&W Above Bed Rails. If you're used to that traditional style of fifth wheel attachment, that's gonna be these industry standard rails. And by industry standard we mean that the distance between the three sets of holes is going to be an industry standard, so it's going to fit a lot of different fifth wheel heads out there, our fifth wheel hitches out there, so if you already have a fifth wheel hitch, or if you're looking at fifth wheel hitches, most likely it's going to fit into these rails. Another point I'd like to make is if you like that way of attachment or if for some reason you have a Reese Sidewinder on the front of your camper, you are gonna have to have industry standard rails because of the way that they attach, it's much stronger than a lot of other attachment points. With these rails, you can also get adapter plates for goosenecks if you want to be able to haul gooseneck trailers but you can't decide between a gooseneck hitch and rails like this to be able to haul a fifth wheel trailer, you don't have to decide. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the B & W Fifth Wheel Rail Kit on a 2016 GMC Sierra 1500. This kit's gonna allow you to have industry standard rails in your bed. That way you can drop in your fifth wheel head and hit the road. Installation's pretty easy overall because these are universal. The brackets underneath the truck are actually custom fit so there's no real drilling except for the holes to pass the carriage bolts down. The rest of it uses just normal holes and hardware in the frame already and then we just kind of bolt it all together. more

You'll have two rails located in your bed and they will be spaced far enough apart with various different slots on them, to accommodate most different types of 5th bow's out there. Demco Hijacker Above-Bed Base Rail Kit Installation - 2018 GMC Sierra 2500- Video

Rob: Hey everybody Rob here @etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Demco Premier Series-Above Bed Fifth Wheel Rails and installation kit on our 2018 GMC Sierra 2500. Our Demco rails are going to work great for the Demco Hijacker 5th Wheel, but they're also going to work for B&W, Draw-Tite, CURT and many other 5th wheel manufacturers because they are going to have this spacing of a standard 5th wheel. So each one of our rails is going to be 43 inches long and the nice thing about these rails is, is whenever you're not towing you can pull the 5th wheel out and then you can see you have full access to your bed. Now keep in mind though our rails do stick up, so if you have something really long you need to slide in you will need to get over that initial hump of the rail. But our rails are only going to stick up about an inch and a half so we're really not losing that much space.As far as the installation goes, we are going to have to drill a few holes in the bed of our truck to have the bolts go down through. more

So they on our 2020 GMC Sierra 2500 we're going to be taking a look at, and showing you how to install the BMW turnover ball under bed gooseneck trailer hitch, with the custom installation kit. This can also be easily converted into a fifth wheel, and you would do that using the BMW Companion, which is more or less than adapter that goes in here. That way if you've got multiple trailers are safe if you have a gooseneck knob, but you might plan on using a fifth wheel in the future. You're going to be able to tow fifth wheels and goose necks with just one kit.Being that this is an under bed kit, all of her main components are going to be located here underneath our truck, which in turn means that we're going to have full bed access here up top. And that can be especially useful when we're running around the job site, maybe throwing a few motorcycles in the bed, or even some luggage when we we're taking the family on vacation. more

Your above-bed rails are attached to two brackets, which are secured to your frame rails underneath the bed.The installation part of it is very simple. This is going to be your mounting location for most standard fifth wheels. Now, these are going to be compatible with a variety of different fifth wheel hitches that we carry. They have different slots that are marked with numbers for whichever one you may purchase. It's going to go from 16,000 pounds up to 25,000 pounds. However, I do recommend checking your owner's manual to make sure your vehicle can withstand whichever amount of weight you are pulling.Now, these rails are going to be about 1 7/8" off the bed and as you can see, they take up, from side to side, most of the center of your bed. more

This is going to allow you to easily remove your fifth wheel base when it's not being used. Your rails are only going to take up from the top corrugation to the top of the rail, only sticks up about an inch. These rails are going to work with most industry standard fifth wheels. You can see they're going to have multiple mounting locations in each rail.One thing I really like about these rails, you can also pick up a goose neck adapter that will fit inside these mounting locations if you have a goose neck trailer that you may need to pull. You won't have to drill that large hole in the bed of your truck. more

Part number RP30868.Here's what the Elite Series under-bed kit looks like installed. As you can see, we've got four connections points that sit flush with the top of the bed. This, unlike most other 5th wheel systems out on the market give us full access.A lot of times what we're going to have are rails that go across the bed, which doesn't give us a nice even surface. So as we're trying to slide things in and out, they get hung up or they'll rock on top of it back and forth. This is going to eliminate that for you and also eliminates the need for you to have pieces of plywood to take up those gaps or anything like that.Though not in use, you can see we've go the rubber plug. more

The big advantage to having an under bed rail system is it's going to leave your bed open, so if you want to take your fifth wheel out and haul, you have your whole bed to do that.Now, it's also going to come with plugs so that when the time comes that you do want to take your fifth wheel out, it's going to have plugs that you just put into place over top your holes, and it's going to keep the elements out of the inside of the holes where your pins drop in. Now, this is going to be a frame mounted system. It's going to leave your bed completely open. It's going to come with all the necessary hardware. Curt 5th Wheel Kit Installation - 2008 GMC Sierra- Video

Today on our 2008 GMC Sierra, we'll be installing the Curt custom fifth wheel installation kit, part number C16418-204. Now, here's what our rails look like installed. These rails will work with industry-standard fifth wheel adapters and goose neck adapters. They will fit, depending on the application, on the wide ones, the middle ones, or if you're using a gooseneck adapter, the middle ones right here. They are constructed of a durable steel construction with a durable carbide finish powder coat, which will give us many years of rust and corrosion-free service. Also, our bolts are coated in a zinc material, so you don't have to worry about your bolts rusting out either, making sure your fifth wheel rails will stay in place while you're towing your trailer. Now, what I like about this kit compared to other brands on the market is that our rails do not stick up very high compared to other ones, giving us full access to our truck bed, so if we wanted to lay something down flat, we don't lose much of our height capacity. more

Resse 5th Wheel Quick Install Base Rail Kit Installation - 2008 GMC Sierra- Video

Today on this 2008 GMC Sierra 2500HD, we're going to review and install the Reese Quick Install Custom Base Rails and Outboard Installation Kit for Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitches; part number RP56004-53. I think one of the best details about this hitch is that, since we've seen the bolts are on the outside here, on a conventional Quick Install Kit, the bolts are on the inside, which is okay to get to. You still have to fight around the heat shield here, and here to get access to the bolts; but on the other side, the driver's side, you have a bolt that's really hidden by the gas tank and it's really tight quarters, and it's just really no fun to install. With this one, you don't have to worry about that at all. It takes away all those headaches. Now, if your truck has a drop-in bed liner, I think this is a good companion to that if you're going to put your fifth wheel hitch in there with it. These rails actually will stick up higher than the bed liner. more

B&W 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Installation - 2013 GMC Sierra- Video

On this 2013 GMC Sierra, we're going to review and install the custom under bed insulation kit from B&W Companion Fith Wheel Trailer Hitches, Part Number BWGNRK-1012-5W. This is what the hitch looks like once installed on our Sierra. Now aside from drilling into the bed of course to install our hitch, for everything else there's no drilling required to install the frame brackets to the frame. It uses two existing holes in the frame and comes complete with all the hardware necessary to install. This is our handle right here, which is used to operate the pin when you need to use it. Now the hitch has a gross towing limit of 30,000 pounds and a vertical load limit 7,500 pounds. Now always double check your owner's manual or your vehicle to make sure it can handle these kinds of weights. more

Today, on this 2011 GMC Sierra, we're going to show you the custom underbed installation kit for B&W Companion 5th wheel trailer hitches, part number BWGNRK1012-5W. We'll go ahead and show you how to operate the hitch. Right now, it's in its locked position. To unlock it, pull on the handle, twist towards the front. To lock the pin down, simply pull back on the handle a little bit, twist it towards the back of the truck, and it's spring-loaded and locks itself back in. By removing the B&W Companion, we can easily convert our 5th wheel for use as a goosenech as well. Let's start by lowering our spare tire down here in the rear, getting this out of the way is going to make getting access into the area we want to work a lot easier. We're now going to clear out just a little bit of room here. This is going to allow the cross rails of our hitch to go into place. The plastic fender liner here is covering it, some of these vehicles will have it, some won't. more

Curt Fifth Wheel Installation - 2015 GMC Sierra 2500- Video

Today on our 2015 GMC Sierra 2500 we'll be installing the CURT custom fifth wheel install kit, part number C16413-204. To begin our install we're first going to go ahead and lower and remove the spare tire to give us more working room underneath. Once we have the spare tire removed we're next going to go ahead and remove both rear wheels. Now with both rear tires removed we're ready to start our install. To do that we're going to start by putting the forward rail in position. The forward rail is going to use the four outermost holes to secure to the custom side brackets. Go ahead and mark those now, and then using our tape measure we'll go from the end of the pickup bed to the rear edge of the rail. more

Today on our 2012 GMC Sierra 2500, well be installing the Curt Custom Fifth Wheel installation kit, part number C16413-204. To begin our install, well first going to go ahead and were going to remove the spare tire to give us some more working room underneath. Now on this application, theres a lock cylinder inside thatll protect them from theft of your spare tire so well go ahead and remove the lock cylinder and set it aside. Well then use the spare tire tools to go ahead and lower and remove the spare tire. Now that we have it down far enough, you can feed the cable back up to the spare tire and bring it down and out of the way. Now with the spare tire out of the way, were going to go ahead and remove both rear wheels. more

Fifth Wheel Installation - 2013 GMC Sierra- Video

Today on our 2013 GMC Sierra short-bed, we'll be installing the under-bed rail and installation for Reese Elite Series 5th wheel trailer hitches, part number Rp30868. Now, we've already gone ahead and removed the spare tire and the spare tire shield from the vehicle. We've also gone ahead and removed the heat shield bolts as they are a little hard to get out. They are loctited in so you may need to cut them out depending on the age of the vehicle. We're now going to go ahead and remove our heat shield. We don't want to take it all down, so we're going to go ahead and cut it. The bolt here on the bed is not easily accessible. We'll go ahead and cut the shield around the bolt. more

Curt Fifth Wheel Installation - 2013 GMC Sierra- Video

All right today on this 2013 GMC Sierra we are going to install part number CI6413-204, this is a Curt custom fifth wheel installation kit. First off all well measure out from the edge of the tailgate as described in the instructions. Always go by you measurements but in this case we use the measurement of 52 and three eighths inches. Well go ahead and mark the location on the left and right sides of the bed and then well put a rail up to our marks. Then well make sure its even left to right. Then well go ahead and mark out the holes we are going to use to mount to the frame brackets. more
